The History of the Church
Its origins date back to the 14th century, when it was built in the Catalan-Gothic style. The church had a trapezoidal plan with three naves separated by two rows of tuff columns and was characterized by an imposing façade featuring a central rose window. Inside, numerous side chapels housed works of great artistic value.

Over the centuries, the Church of the Annunciation underwent several modifications and enlargements, taking on an ever more grandiose appearance. However, in 1866 a tragic event sealed its fate: an earthquake caused the roof and part of the structure to collapse.

Despite the ruins, the Church of the Annunciation still exerts an undeniable charm today. Its perimeter walls, pointed arches, and surviving columns bear witness to the skill of its ancient builders and the elegance of the Catalan-Gothic style.
